BCWF's Wetlandkeeper Course - Free course

Course Overview:

The BCWF's Wetlandkeeper Course is a 2.5 day workshop that educates participants about wetland conservation.  Participants gain skills in wetland classification, site survey and health assessment, plant and animal identification, soil sampling, and wetland stewardship techniques.  Workshop participants are provided with a BCWF Wetlandkeeper Certificate and will have the opportunity to get their hands wet and feet muddy stewarding local wetlands.  The ERA has ongoing projects at the West Fernie and McDougall Wetlands in Fernie, the Sparwood Beaver Wetland and will be helping to construct a wetland at an abandoned gravel pit north of Hosmer.

Cost:  Free!!  Course valued at $200 for this certification program.  Sponsored by funders through the BC Wildlife Federation.
